“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” – Barack Obama
We depend on a bold few to solve the big problems and create the value that moves us all forward. These people are often regarded as High Value.
A quick online search for what it means to be High Value does not return a simple answer.
So lets start by defining what it means to be a person of High Value.
High Value Definition:
Oxford Definition:
High = “great, or greater than normal, in quantity, size, or intensity.”
Value = “a person’s principles or standards of behavior; one’s judgment of what is important in life.”

It’s not the Money:
Having a lot of money is mistakenly associated with being a person of High Value. A person with a lot of money is just that, “a person with a lot of money.”
Money can be the result of being a person of High Value, not the inverse.
We have cautionary figures like Ebenezer Scrooge who serve their own interest with no regard for others.
Selfishness does not equal High Value.
Paradoxically, opportunities for making money will find those who create value for others.
High Value Formula:
(Learn Daily to Improve Yourself) + (Create Value for Others) = Earn More…
Earn more = More personal satisfaction
Earn more = More freedom with your time
Earn more = More attempts to impact others
Earn more = More opportunities to make money
And on and on….
Malala Yousafzai: Ensuring School Doors Open for All Women
Malala Yousafzai was born in Mingora Pakistan. Her father was a teacher at a girls’ school. She lived in an area of Pakistan that discouraged women from going to school. Malala openly disagreed with this idea and was shot in the head for speaking about her views in public.
After several months of rest, she refused to hide in fear. Instead, she used her platform to start the Malala Fund, a charity dedicated to ensuring every girl has the opportunity to go to school. Malala had the courage to stand up for women everywhere and became the youngest person to ever receive the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 17.
